Bladesmithing is my passion. Compiling inspiration from many beloved stories and works of art, my knives are an attempt to physically manifest the imaginative stirrings that I find in favorite places of escape–the writings and art of Lewis Carroll, Miguel de Cervantes, Salvador Dali, Oscar Wilde, Rudyard Kipling and many more.
I forge my blades. I plasticize and pattern weld my steel. I sculpt my handles. Using a complex process, I paint my blades with black rust in intentional patinas that are unique and durable enough to withstand multiple lifetimes of daily use. Those who use my knives appreciate both their aesthetic and practicality. In this way, a hand-forged knife is a living piece of art that intersects with the realities of our daily life, twisting together art and function.

In 2017, I won a History Channel reality competition recreating historical edged weapons. You can watch the episode on Amazon Prime by searching for Forged in Fire, season 4 episode 12. I made a second appearance to compete against a judge from the show on a spinoff show titled Forged in Fire: Beat the Judges, season 1 episode 2. It can also be found on Amazon Prime Video.
